Sometimes the very thing one needs is just someone or some people to be in community with. Up until I moved to Tacoma the world of photography for me was something that I sought out on my own. To succeed at what I was doing, was my way of telling the world that I'd made it. I was giving the world the middle finger for making me think that as an artist I didn't have what it took to succeed in my craft.
Truth be told, there are still many days where I don't feel like I can succeed. There are many days where the world of photography can be pretty dark. That's why I love having the community that I do have. The community that encourages, raises up, and supports other local artists in the surrounding area.
All-in-all, it was a blast. Lauren is my best friend and she's the female version of me. We are a party when we are together, haha. Needless to say, we've grown as photographers and I can't wait to see the things we do as we've got some stuff planned both individually and together.
